Peace and Happiness

Peace and Happiness

It's Sunday morning and I found a beautiful cafe by the water. It's quiet here, and there is only one other customer on the deck. The blue water is still, and the boats are gently swaying in the breeze. For me this is a moment of pure serenity, and a lovely place to read and drink tea.

Sometimes life gets a little hectic and you start to lose sight of what's really important, but moments like these bring you back. There are some big decisions I have to make in the next few weeks, but for now i'm just enjoying the moment.

I'm trying to be more mindful in the quiet, but I struggle to stop my mind going on its own journey. I gently nudge myself back to the present moment, and bring my thoughts back to the water. It really is a beautiful view. I can see an airplane flying above me, and seagulls circling around in search of food.

I love that whatever happens, I can rely on moments like these to centre me, and bring me peace. Moments of peace and happiness can be found all around you, if you're looking for them, but life often blocks them from view. Sometimes you just need to be reminded of that, because life's an uphill battle and it's all about the climb. (Miley Cyrus' song The Climb was playing this morning)

'  Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.'

-Albus Dumbledore

Go for a walk, read a book, have a cup of your favourite tea, call a friend, do something that brings you a moment of peace and happiness in this tumultuous place we call life. It can get crazy, and hard, and scary sometimes, but find a way to keep coming back to a place the centres you and brings you peace.

Early Morning Ramblings from my Desk by the Water,

Kate
